Deep Tissue
Deep tissue is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.

Myofascial Release
An alternative therapy that is useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood, oxygen, and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflux in muscles.
Swedish
Swedish Massage is a manual therapy that emphasizes long strokes, kneading and friction motions to encourage proper circulation. The technique involves rubbing muscles together in the same direction as the flow of blood to the heart.
Sports
It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of a muscle spasm. Pressure is applied with the fingers, knuckles, and/or elbow in ten to thirty second intervals to effectively alleviate the muscle spasm.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right massage modality?
We have a great description of the different massage choices we offer above, however we do suggest talking with your therapist about individual symptoms so that they are able to direct you to what type of massage will benefit you the most. If you have questions about massage modalities give us a call and we are happy to assist you.
What to expect during my first massage therapy session?
You will be required to fill out a Client Intake Form and sign a HIPAA Acknowledgment form. Afterward, the therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, and if there are any conditions needing to be addressed. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your session to fill out appropriate paperwork and get settled into the massage room.
When should I not get a massage?
There are a few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection. Other major conditions directed by a physician should be notified to the therapist before the session begins.
Do I need to be completely undressed?
You should undress to the level you are comfortable with. For a full body massage, most get completely undressed to underwear but if not comfortable, that is fine. The therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as they can. If removing all your clothes makes you too nervous and unable to relax, then you are not getting the optimal benefit from the session. Your massage therapist will step out of the room to give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table. You will be covered by sheets/blankets. Throughout the session only the area being massaged will be undraped.
Tolerance Policy
Massage is strictly non-sexual, and Salud Salt and Spa has a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment of any kind, including but not limited to solicitations for extras, suggestive comments, or inappropriate touch. The client will be required to end the session without refund, and asked to leave the property immedietly.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Please call our office to notify our staff so that we are able to leave the open session time available to others.
Missed appointments or those cancelled with less then 24 hours of notice will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee ($50.00 fee for couple massages).
Is parental consent needed for massage therapy?
In the state of Wisconsin anyone under the age of 18 will be required to have a signed parental consent to treat form.
Can my child come to my session with me?
While we do offer services to all ages, we ask that minors not be left unattended in the lobby area. If a child is with an adult they will be asked to sit in on the therapy session with their parent or guardian.
